It may be as PC as a game of "Spot the Chronic Masturbator" (coming soon to Channel 5 I'm sure...), but a part of me is glad the BNP got in. Either 1) they'll do quite well and force the other parties to up their game... and inevitably throw muck at them (a la expenses) and force them to quit (best of both worlds - they do some good and get chucked), or 2) they do such a spectacutlarly bad job they are forced out into Political Coventry and are never seen again.

Of course there is no chance they could do quite well and gain popular support and make any lasting difference is there! Is there? Oh...

The Polish spitfire on the BNP's anti-foreign-types leaflet remains my favourite recent example of spectacular hubris.

Especially the bit afterwards where they claimed they meant to do it all along.
