I passed up on some great bargains this on Saturday – Guitar Hero III for £35, Lord of the Rings snooze-length boxed set for £20, the complete Father Ted for £24, and Fallout 3 for £22 – in the Zavvi “WE’RE NOT CLOSING THE WATFORD STORE BUT FOR F***’S SAKE PLEASE BUY SOMETHING” Sale.

The great thing about the Credit Crunch is that there are prices that are just too good to be true! However for me it’s usually a spectator sport. Especially when I left my credit card at home and lacked the foresight to race home and get it. I also lacked the coercive skills to convince the missus that some, or indeed ANY of the above were essential purchases.

On Monday it was all too late – none of the above were anywhere in sight.

So next year, then. I hear Burnout Paradise is almost cheap enough for me to buy now…
