Subway was an early effort in the French film-makers try to imitate Hollywood, erm, Wave. Because it was an early effort I think the director had a hard time throwing the inherent confines of being a Frenchy and the film didn’t suck as much as you’d expect. Although my memories are somewhat diluted by 25-odd years having passed since I saw it. And the 15-year old narkle not knowing an awful lot about pretty much anything. How time’s change.
